About Gunaratna Sadavarte:
Gunaratna Sadavarte is a well-known lawyer from Maharashtra. He gained prominence for challenging the Maratha reservation in India’s Supreme Court, leading to its cancellation in 2021. Born in Nanded, he originally studied medicine before transitioning to law. He also holds a PhD in constitutional law. Throughout his career, Sadavarte has represented various social causes, including labor rights, and served as president of the MAT Bar Association. He is married to lawyer Dr. Jayashree Patil, and their daughter, Zen, won a National Bravery Award in 2018.
